Shelly Freeman currently works as an Internal Controls Analyst for Marriott Vacation Club International (“MVCI”). Some of her responsibilities include ensuring sites comply with financial rules such as Sarbanes-Oxley, privacy, Do Not Call law and information resources. Other responsibilities are keeping up with privacy laws, creating policies and standards for MVCI and documenting Sarbanes-Oxley controls for the different business processes at MVCI.

In 1998, Shelly worked for Disney Vacation Club in their Compliance Department where she primarily worked with Marketing, Operations and did research and training for the Do Not Call laws for all the states to the business units within the vacation club. In 2001, Shelly joined MVCI as a Paralegal in the Law Department and worked with the Sales & Marketing attorneys to register the various MVCI projects with state Real Estate Commissions and create the legal documentation for those projects.

Shelly has a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies and a minor in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida and is currently obtaining her Master of Business Administration degree from Webster University. In October of 2007, Shelly also obtained a Certified Information Privacy Professional certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
