Cherie
Boyce is responsible for Emergency Management Community Outreach
Programs such as the Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) and
special events. Some other responsibilities include writing articles
and Press Releases related to the field of disaster preparedness,
response, mitigation and planning strategies. Ms. Boyce is
interested in your suggested topics for our website.
Since 1999, Cherie worked in various Orange County offices that included the Building
Division (Damage Assessment), the Growth Management Department
(Public Information) and the Orange County Board of
County Commissioners Offices (Public Administration).
From 1993
until 1999, she worked simultaneously in various positions
in Escambia County: as a radio announcer for WUWF 88.1 FM, as
Interim Manager for the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, and as
Membership Development for the Pensacola Chapter of the American
Lung Association and the March of Dimes.
Most of this employment was done part time,
around classes for a BA in Communication Arts and a Masters in
Public Admininstration from the University of West Florida
(Hurricane Opal was her most informative class!).
