Mark Palmer is currently a Captain with the Lake County Sherriff's Office. His duties and experience go back to 1981 where he began as a Deputy. Progressing through the ranks of Sergeant and Lieutenant, Mark has served with the Patrol Division, the Criminal Investigation Division, as a Public Information Officer, an Assistant Commander on S.W.A.T., and numerous other special investigation units. Prior to joining The Lake County Sherriff's Office, he was a Patrolman for the Travares Police Department.
Mark Palmer holds a BS in Criminal Justice from Kaplan College and a MA in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. Functioning as the Director of the Criminal Justice Training Academy has given Mark a unique perspective with regard to both the management and training of law enforcement recruits. Mark spoke on the challenges of training and the new recruits seeking law enforcement as a career.
